Keeping the Imposter Syndrome In Check.
Just about every creative person I know has Imposter Syndrome. As I wrestled with mine, I kept track of items that quiet the evil self-talk (below). Must keep affirming that progress is being made. Having supportive friends, fans, and Gen Con Writers Symposium works well for this. I appreciate the community.
- World Horror Grandmaster and Bram Stoker Award Winner Brian Keene recognized my name from a previous convention (WFC?) and sought me out to say hello.
- A fan of my short stories bought all four books of my series at the Gen Con kiosk shop
- I made the Gen Con Program (as an example Featured Panelist)
- Horror Author Tim Waggoner bought Lords of Dyscrasia prior Gen Con after he listened to the Audio version of one of my short stories
- Led the Sword and Sorcery and Monster-Protagonist Panels
